Do You Trust God?
Categories: Pastor's Blog
“Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” Psalm 50:15
Last Sunday as we shared the story of the three Hebrew children out of the book of Daniel, we saw their trust in God. “The God we serve is able to save us and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods.” (Daniel 3:7-18)
Sometimes I will ask people what keeps them from trusting in God and they will respond say, “Well I don’t know how this is going to turn out, so it’s hard for me to trust.” Its hard to trust in something that we can’t see. And yet we trust in things we can’t see all the time. We can’t see cell phone waves and yet we use them every day. The same is true with television or radio waves.
We find ourselves using selective trust. We trust what we want to trust.
What about you? Are you willing to trust in the God who is unseen and yet has proven to be more reliable, more dependable than any technology this world could create? Are you willing to trust and commit your life to him?
I like this quote, “The Bible never once says, ‘Figure it out.’ But over and over it says, ‘Trust God.’ He’s already got it all figured out.”
Are you will to trust him with your struggles? If you are, I encourage you to pray this prayer:
Dear God, forgive me for my pride and my belief that I don’t need you in my life. I’m sorry. God I am willing to admit that I need to be rescued. There is humility in admitting that. I need saving. Jesus, I am asking you to rescue me and set me free. I am willing to humble myself and call on you because you have stated that anyone who calls upon you in their day of trouble, you will deliver. I want to commit my life to you, and I want to learn to trust you and know you better. Help me learn to trust you more and more each day. In your name I pray, Amen.
See you Sunday,
